Hi, i used the reference image mapper to flag a piano as region of interest. For this i created a project, with the recording included i want to get flagged fixations with. Then i included a scanning recording video (length of 3:01), which worked. I uploaded a reference image and then defined regions of interest. It compelted running but when i open the refernece_image_files (.csv) they are empty. There are no fixations, or aoi_fixiations. How do i know if the scanning video i did was flawed? I had instances before (with other scanning recordings) where it gave me an error message at least, but this time it just run through with no issue but did not succeed in generating expected data. I did the scanning video with my Invisible qc49m. The recording was made with invisible too. Project is called "Test" including a piano session - a pianist performing improvisations while wearing an eye tracker.
Hi @user-5ab4f5 , we do not have access to your data, so if you'd like us to inspect that Project, you can temporarily invite us as Collaborators on your Workspace [email removed]
While successful, it could be that the Scanning Recording or Reference Image could be improved.
Also, to clarify, if you want fixation data, as represented on the AOIs, then you need to also run an AOI Heatmap Visualization.
@user-f43a29 So i guess, when i want (like in the face enrichment) my fixation to be flagged as "True" when loacted at the region of interest (e.g. the piano or in the face enrichment as "fixation on face" in fixation_on_face.csv" i need to run the AOI heatmap Visualization, toO?
Yes, as documented here, the aoi_fixations.csv
file is the output of the AOI Heatmap Visualization.
However, the absence of data in your Reference Image Mapper CSV exports is a different issue which might point to the necessity of an improved Scanning Recording or Reference Image.
@user-f43a29 I just opened a ticket and invited you to my project. Thank you !
Good morning, i'm currently using the pupil labs invisible glasses with an android oneplus 8 phone. the phone is currently on Android version 12 and I was told that this update is the compatible with the companion app. Is there a guide available on how to go back to version 11? Thank you.
Hi @user-a578d9 👋🏻 You're correct: the Invisible Companion app is designed to work with specific devices and OS versions to ensure reliable and stable performance.
For instructions on how to roll back your OnePlus 8 from Android 12 to Android 11, please refer to the dedicated guide on our website.
Hi everyone! I'm a beginer and want to learn how to do enrichments with my Invisible. At the moment it doesn't let me load a Reference Image. Can someone help me?
Hi @user-f288a8 , what error does it show when it does not let you load the image?
it doesn't show any errors, it's just that the "Upload a reference image" it's not clickable
Ok, I see you have opened a Support Ticket. Would you be willing to temporarily add us as Collaborators on the Workspace [email removed] to assist? Please note that we will then be able to see all data in said Workspace.
I've sent an invitation!
Ok will do! Thanks
Hi there! We're using an Invisible for a field study, and I would like to get RTSP streaming working over mobile data. The only thing we're struggling with is getting the RTSP service to remain active without a WiFi connection. I wondered if either there was an option to keep it active, or if the source code for the companion was available so that we can make a build with the behaviour we need? Or any other workarounds? For interest, we're using a VPN to get the connection to the device working, and that's all working as expected; up until we disconnect wifi and the RTSP service terminates 😦
Hi @user-1b8ea9 , streaming over mobile data is not implemented in the app.
The device advertises itself on the network with mDNS, which is primarily designed for local networks.
In other words, losing the connection over VPN after disconnecting WiFi is expected. As one solution, you could try streaming to a local computer that then forwards the data to some wide-area network. There might also be an Android app that can help in this regard.
Hi Rob. Yes, I understand that, but running a VPN is in networking terms equivalent to being on the same LAN. Hence my query as to whether the app could be persuaded to just carry on streaming, even though the WiFi connection is inactive. Is the source code for the companion available?
Hi @user-1b8ea9 , the source code for the Pupil Invisible app is not available.
And, I may have misunderstood, but how is the communication with the VPN maintained when the device's WiFi connection to it has been disconnected?
Oh that's a shame. The VPN works over mobile data. I think we might have to send our participants out with a second phone as a mobile hotspot!
That should work!
