@everyone More updates for Pupil Cloud!
Now you can customize how gaze and fixations are visualized within Cloud. Current options for gaze visualization are circle and crosshair. Adjust size, color, width, and more!
For fixations you can also enable/disable fixation history and fixation numbers.
Stay tuned, weβre bringing these updates to the video renderer soon! π
@everyone We've launched an updated version of the Neon shop on our website.
As our ecosystem of eye tracking frames, accessories, and add-ons has grown, we wanted to make it easier to explore all the options and understand how Neon's modular system works.
Our goal with the new design is to make it clearer and more intuitive, helping you configure the right package for your research or application.
Check it out here π
@everyone New Alpha Lab Content π£ π£ π£
Knowing where someone is looking is good. Knowing what they're looking at is a game-changer.
Raw gaze data is just a 2D point. Our new Alpha Lab guide shows you how to bridge the gap between that point and the real world by connecting Neon eye tracking data with a whole ecosystem of powerful computer vision models.
Our open-source examples provide a flexible framework to: - π€ Run object detection with state-of-the-art models like Ultralytics's YOLO or Roboflow's RF-DETR - β Track hand poses and coordination with GoogleAI's MediaPipe. - π Plug in other tools, from depth sensing algorithms to segmentation models like SAM. - π Analyze everything in real-time or post-hoc.
Stop analyzing pixels and start understanding perception. Get the scripts and the full guide: https://docs.pupil-labs.com/alpha-lab/map-onto-anything/
@everyone New Research Digest π°
Are coaches and referees seeing the same game?
Researchers have taken eye tracking out of the lab and onto the basketball court to find out. Using Neon combined with real-time AI (YOLOv8 & SegFormer), Daniele Lozzi and colleagues from UniversitΓ degli Studi dell'Aquila captured exactly where experts (coaches and referees) look and how their cognitive load changes in the heat of live games.
This system can measure not just where experts are looking, but also their cognitive load in the heat of the moment.
Key Findings: -Β π§ Referees showed higher cognitive load (larger pupil diameter) when observing defensive plays. -Β π Coaches' visual focus shifted dramatically depending on whether their team was on offense or defense.
This work is a step forward for sports psychology and performance analysis, offering a path to better training and decision-making.

@everyone Meet us in Mainz at the European Conference on Visual Perception
Next Sunday we will host a hands-on eye tracking workshop with Neon. The focus is on programmatic control - using our Python APIs to stream live data, manage experiments, and analyze results directly with code. Weβve got a full house and are very much looking forward to connecting with everyone!
Canβt attend the workshop? Swing by the conference exhibit space to get a hands-on demo and meet with our team.
